2009 was an amazing and eclectic year! I got to write burlesque in London, touchdown music for the Cowboys in Dallas, a pop song for a Gospel Choir in Orlando; and as a newly elected board member of the Johnny Mercer Foundation. I had the honor of attending his 100th birthday celebration in Savannah, Georgia in October. I had a wonderful time during the holidays with my family and friends and over one foot of snow, here on the east coast! I am very, very thankful.
I'm really excited and looking forward to opening Nightmare Alley on April 21st at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles. Working with director Gil Cates for the last three years has brought a collaboration and friendship that is very special to me. He has amassed a team, including the fabulous choreographer Kay Cole (A Chorus Line) and just wait until you see the sets by Tony Award winner John Arnone. I am dazzled. Gil surrounds himself with incredible people at the Geffen. It feels like family. Come to LA in April! It’ll be worth it.
